Journée internationale des droits de l'enfant
Aujourd'hui, mardi 20 novembre, est une journée très importante.
C'est la journée internationale des droits de l'enfant.
La convention internationale des droits de l'enfant de 1989 a été ratifiée par 193 pays. Seuls les États-Unis d'Amérique n'ont pas ratifié cette convention qu'ils ont pourtant signée le 16 février 1995.
La ratification d'un pays engage celui-ci à faire appliquer cette convention notamment en mettant en conformité ses lois. Malgré cela, de nombreux droits de l'enfant ne sont pas respectés.

Le thème de cette journée est
« Les enfants prennent les commandes et peignent le monde en bleu »
Alors pensez à porter des vêtements bleus.
Ensuite, je souhaite vous présenter un livre illustré sur ce texte. Cet ouvrage des éditions Chêne imprimé en 2017 permet aux enfants de s'approprier leurs droits et d'en comprendre l’intérêt. Intitulé "Déclaration universelle des droits de l'enfant illustré" ce magnifique document destiné aux enfants à partir de 10 ans mais qui peut tout à fait être présenté à des enfants plus jeunes a été réalisé avec la participation de 30 artistes contemporains. Il comprend une adaptation de la convention afin de la rendre accessible aux enfants, puis la version intégrale de celle-ci, des citations d'auteurs ainsi que la biographie des artistes.

Today, Tuesday, November 20th, is a very important day.
It is the International Day of the Rights of the Child.
The 1989 International Convention on the Rights of the Child has been ratified by 196 countries. Only the United States of America has not ratified this Convention, although they signed it on 16 February 1995.
The ratification of a country commits the latter to enforce this convention, notably by bringing its laws into conformity. Despite this, many of the rights of the child are not respected.

The theme of this day is
« Children are taking over and turning the world blue »
So think about wearing blue clothes.
Then I want to present you an illustrated book on this text.
This book by Editions Chêne published in 2017 allows children to appropriate their rights and understand what's at stake.
Entitled "Universal Declaration of the Rights of the Child Illustrated" this wonderful document aimed at children from the age of 10 but can be presented to younger children has been produced with the participation of 30 contemporary artists.
It includes an adaptation of the convention to make it accessible to children, the whole of it, quotes from authors and biographies of artists.
